everything looks better on linux

You know,

I have no idea what it is, but everything on my computer screen just looks BETTER under KDE. Now, that’s not to say that KDE is pretty (it’s not), or that OS X is ugly (it isn’t), but for some reason, my eyes LOVE the fonts and spacing and, well, niceness of the full KDE 3.4 experience.

Oh, and KFM kicks the shit out of the Finder. Really.

Ha! I think the general consensus is that almost everthing can beat out Finder, one of OS X’s most prominent flaws. Well, apart from Window’s Explorer, Microsoft have excelled themselves, and infact everyone else, with one of the flat out worst file managers around.

Yeah, it’s amazing to me the kinds of thing that I can just DO when using KFM that are freaking impossible with the finder. Managing resources for this blog over SFTP via KFM is just a joy.

I think that file managers are something like email clients: everyone has done one, and most of them are wrong. I wonder if there’s some broad principle at work here, other than the 90% rule.
