Alex: I'm sorry our health care system sucks so much, for you, and for everyone else. It's worth remembering that a doubling of costs would have happened in 2 years *anyway* at the rates things have been going *without* any additional govt intervention. That the insurance companies are forward-fucking us (vs. the slow-fucking they'd be applying regardless) is truly detestable, and I'm sorry for your loss.

Jerry H: wait, private rationing is better?

As someone who has already lost his health plan because of Obamacare (the plan was removed as an option for small businesses in September and replaced by one that was twice as expensive) and could only find one that was affordable with the caveat that it would only be offered through the end of 2011 at which point it would no longer be offered, do not get me started about the Dems finding their stones. I now realize that in 2014, as a sole entrepreneur, I will probably have no choice but be shuffled over to the government option. I was completely happy with my health care two years ago and now I am not.

Nevermind the hypocrisy of the Republicans (of which they have it in spades), the dems had a lot of "stones" passing Obamacare and they will pay for it. I, for one, will find it hard to ever pull the trigger for a Dem again in my lifetime and I was a pretty reliable Democratic vote up to 6 years ago. If the Dems continue to find their stones, they will insure electoral losses for the next generation. Funny how quickly the Dems could make the Republicans smell like roses.

Stick to making sure the web sucks less. And don't just assume that your readers share your political outlook.

Ha, you beat me to the comment. Its amazing what a joke the health care bill has turned into. I own a small chapter s and we had the exact same thing happen to us. Unfortunately, it was only after we had to go looking for replacement health care that I actually started paying attention to the whole mess. The dems spent all their time trying to fix something that was really only broken in their mind and they did nothing to really address the biggest problem which was cost. We are moving toward a world where only the top 1-2% will be able to afford private health insurance and the rest of us poor souls are going to ultimately have to get onto government subsidized AND rationed health care.

The most ironic issue was the need to insure all those uninsured people that were dying in the streets every day. The administration assured us in the first year, 350,000-400,000 would now be covered. Initial signups? 8,000. That speaks volumes.
